Esbjerg, Denmark-based Semco Maritime and Moffatt & Nichol in the US are to offer common engineering services to the offshore wind industry in the US.
Together, the companies will offer engineering services to the market combining Semco Maritime’s 15 years of offshore wind experience in Europe with Moffatt & Nichol’s engineering expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
By joining forces, they hope to be able to provide offshore windfarm concept studies and engineering services. In addition, the partners intend to work collaboratively on engineering procurement construction projects for high voltage offshore substations.
Semco Maritime director technology Tommy Flindt said “We believe that the US offshore wind market will have a growth trajectory similar to what has been seen in Europe, and that the combination of nearly two decades of offshore wind experience with knowledge of US practices, codes, regulations and engineering experience will be a win-win for our customers.”
