US outfit forms offshore wind services provider
Reinauer Group, of which Windserve is a part, is active in a number of segments of the marine industry

Marine transportation company Reinauer Group has formed a new unit dedicated to supporting the nascent offshore wind energy industry in the US.

The new company, Windserve Marine, will provide a range support services to the US offshore wind industry, joining affiliate companies Boston Towing & Transportation, BTT Marine Construction, Erie Basin Bargeport, Reicon Group, Reinauer Transportation Companies and Senesco Marine.

The company plans to provide offshore wind support services on the Atlantic coast of the US, drawing on Reinauer group’s decades-long experience in the marine industry.

Windserve will support all stages of the offshore wind lifecycle from construction through to operations and maintenance, the company told OWJ, drawing on its ability to leverage resources and synergies of affiliate companies in the group. These include personnel transfer, towing, escort and provision of offshore support vessels, stores and equipment allocation, dive and survey operations, heavy equipment contracting, construction support and engineering and logistics services.

Reinauer chief executive Craig Reinauer said, “We are pleased to enter this burgeoning industry and capitalise on the depth of talent and infrastructure we already have in place.”

The company will provide services from New York, Boston and Rhode Island.
